Whisked Away Wednesday: Crazy Colors White Chocolate Sugar Cookie Bars

I usually steer clear of any premade cookie dough as homemade cookies are so easy to make and taste way better. However, when I saw these flag cookies on sale the day after the fourth of July, I snapped them up. I had been watching Everyday Italian on Food Network the other day and had seen Giada (the chef) make a cookie bar using pre-made sugar cookie dough. I decided to give the recipe a try using my flag dough. The recipe is really easy, basically all you do is roll out the sugar cookie dough, put it in a pan, cook it, top it with jam and a drizzle of chocolate and you're done! the only problem was the fact that my premade cookie dough had flags stamped all over it so when I mooshed it together and rolled it out it turned a horrible color. Fortunatley, the layers of jam and chocolate pretty much covered up the ugly sugar cookie crust, and the bars tasted great! So below is the recipe, feel free to custimize it according to waht ingredient's you have on hand. I bet it would be really tasty if made using cherry jam with a milk chocolate drizzle. Hope you enjoy, happy baking! .

Before the smooshing

After the smooshing... before the baking

After the baking and smooshing... I swear it just tastes like sugar cookies, no wierd flavors!

End result, quite tasty!
