A little randomness for your week... more recipes soon!

Hi friends! First of all, isn't Lola cute (random picture, I realize, but adorable none the less). Second of all, I am sorry I am failing at posting this week! My sister and nephew are here visiting so every second I am not at work I spend with them, so cooking/baking etc. has been at a minimum! In an effort to make up for it I thought I would share a little bit about myself with all of you lovely readers. I would LOVE to know more about you too so if you copy and answer these questions too, let me know in the comments section and I will be sure to read em! And I PROMISE next week, LOTS of yummy recipes! Have fun!
{one}
What time do you normally wake up?
5:45 on a work day, weekends I usually wake up at 6:30 on my own but I don't get out of bed till 7 or 7:30. I'm a morning person, I love getting up early and getting stuff done!

{two}
Do you have a go-to song for karaoke?
Never done it! It basically SCARES THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of me!

{three}
If you could only see black & white, except for one color, which color would you choose?
I think.... green because then I could still the color of leaves and grass and Christmas trees!

{four}
What color best matches your personality?
I think probably blue with yellow spots cause I'm pretty calm but I have LOTS of energy (blue=calm, yellow=energy)

{five}
If you could choose one meal to cook better than anyone else, what would it be?
PIZZA! There are so many amazing pizza cooks so if I could cook it better than ALL of them... that would be one knock your socks off pizza! THINK of the restaurant I could open all focused on my AMAZING, BEST pizza in the world!

{six}
How many keys do you have on your key ring?
I actually had to grab it and count for this question. The grand total is three, ya I had to count three keys... been a looong day! One is to my apartment, one to my mailbox and one for my car.

{seven}
Do you give your pets Christmas/Birthday gifts?
No, but growing up my mom always set out a special stocking for the pets, a family tradition that we carry on to this day! I think of pets as part of the family, so why not?

{eight}
When your plate has different foods on it, do you mix or not?
Well, definitely depends on the food. Peas and mashed potatoes, the more mixing the better, applesauce and spaghetti, not so much

{nine}
If you could hire someone to do one thing for you, all the time, what would it be?
Clean my car! I love cleaning my apartment, but for some reason, I HATE vacuuming and cleaning my car the vacuum is just so darn hard to maneuver in there!

{ten}
When flying, do you prefer the window or aisle seat?
Aisle for sure, I get leg cramps if I sit still for too long so if I sit in the aisle I can get up and move around easier. I hate having to either jump over everyone to get out of my seat or make everyone stand up so I can get out... stresses me out BIG time!
Have a great week!

Fill in the Blanks Friday

Hello, it's Friday, so lets take a break from recipes an fill in some blanks! This lovely fill in the blanks is from Lauren at All the Little Things. Head over to her blog and join in on the fun!

1. My last haircut was in September, I was super brave and got bangs!
I'm still not sure if I like em or not...

2. My most daring hair moment was.... this is a hard one.... i'm pretty boring as far as hair is concerned. I had a bowl cut up till about sixth grade, thanks mom!
3. A hairstyle I'd never be brave enough to try is shaved head for sure. I am afraid I would discover that my head is wierd shaped or something.
4. I've always dreamt of being a (blonde, brunette or red-head)blond, I tried on a wig once, definitley does not work with my skin tone!

Ponytail!

5. My go-to hair do is straight in a ponytail. I have naturally curly hair but it is actually easier for me to wear it straight cause I know exactly what it will look like. When it's curly I never know what it will do, sometimes pretty ringlets, other times poofy frizz ball!
6. My biggest hair disaster was when I got my hair cut in "face framing layers" my junior year of highschool. The layers were NOT face framing, there were two, one ended at cheek height and the other at chin length. It was choppy, and awful.
7. A hairstyle I am dying to try is an effortless chignon. Whenever I try to do this it falls out in about five minutes and becomes the opposite of effortless.
8. My best hair day always happens the day after I go to the salon. The day I get my hair cut I usually hate it, I dont do well with change, but once I get over that I usually end up liking it, cause my stylist is the best!
9. The worst hairstyle I ever had was that bowl cut. My mom cut me and my sister's hair exactly the same until about sixth grade. Serious bowl cuts, so unfortunate...
10. My hair is frustrating most days. I am still having trouble figuring out how to work with my bangs. It's a work in progress.

Have a great weekend! Stay tuned, I am posting a VERY special cookie recipe this weekend! AND I figured twitter out so you can follow @whiskandaprayer.
Have a LOVELY day!

Fill in the Blank Friday!

Happy Friday friends! I am on my way to Burbank, California to visit my friend Michael and go to DISNEYLAND!! I haven't been since the fourth grade and I am BEYOND excited! I write this as I am sitting in the San Fransisco airport waiting for my flight to Burbank. Every once in a while I join Lauren's Fill in the Blank Fridays, you guys should too! It's fun, I promise ☺

1. The first thing I do in the morning to start my day is turn on the tea kettle .

2. Today I wish I was somewhere warm... not sitting in the airport..(although the San Fransisco airport does have delicious clam chowder in warm sourdough bread bowls)

3. If I had an extra $100 in my bank account today I'd go to a fancy shmancy restaurant while in California, or go on a whole foods shopping spree when I get home.

4. Tomorrow I will be at DISNEYLAND!! AWHOOHOOOOO!!!

5. Two things that don't go together are peanut butter and sardines, need I say more?

6. Something I can never pass up at the grocery store is fancy cheese, or any cheese, or samples, I LOVE samples!

7. The last time I tried something new was yesterday when I tried Pizza Schmizza's alligator sausage pizza, it was actually pretty good!

Have a FABULOUS weekend!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Fill in the Blank Friday and a Pic of my MOM!

1. The strangest thing I've ever eaten is bull balls... ya Jose's family told me they were chicken patties. They didnt taste like chicken, they're super tough. I took one bite and knew... definitley not chicken!

2. I wouldn't be caught dead in ugly shoes.. not my thing. I love beautiful shoes!

3. When I am 75 I will hopefully be with the ones I love doing whatever the heck I want cause hey, thats old!

4. If I had to be named after a place I would want to be named Austin, it seems like an artsy, fun name. I dont think you could be a nerd and named Austin, it just exudes cool.

5. My name is "Elizabeth" after my mom's middle name (that's her picture up there, she inspires me to keep cooking!) and "Rebekah" after the one from the Bible.

6. My all time favorite photo is one of my parents and sisters when my dad returned from being deployed over seas for a really long time. My sister is clinging to him and my mom is all smiley and super happy. True love!

7. If I could afford it I would move me and my family to Mexico and start my own bakery.

Your turn! Link up over at Lauren's lovely blog the little things we do!
Have a BEAUTIFUL, RESTFUL, Friday!

Bacon flavored envelopes and pickle pops...

Its Friday, a day that seems to stretch on forever for me because I am counting the hours until the weekend finally arrives. I thought I would share a very entertaining website that is sure to make time move at least a little faster toward the glorious freedom that is Saturday.... When I recently stumbled across onemoregadget.com, I ended up spending a good hour going through their posts on all kinds of remarkable gadgets that I had no idea even existed. Let me just say, this is my new favorite time-waster (as if I need another one). Anyhow, love, love, love this website! Some of the strangest items I encountered there were envelopes that taste like bacon (I have to admit... i'm intrigued), a doggie high chair (really?), pickle flavored ice sickles... and this which I actually think I am going to invest in...

http://www.perpetualkid.com/wire-blooms-cable-clips.aspx

I have wires going from my TV that are particularly hideous... Hindsight is 20/20, don't go with Dish Network, they run a cable from the dish on your back patio through to your tv. Which for me means right through my kitchen! But these cute little clips may be the solution I have been looking for! Genius!! Enjoy the website and let me know if you find something amazing!

Keeping Portland Wierd

I was walking in downtown Portland and spotted these chained up to a bike rack. I have no idea who they belonged to.... but I am sure they are awesome!
